Dear friends, relatives, and supporters of the Xica Media family of networks, You are cordially invited to attend the Re-encuentro de Raices Milenarias Mexicanas tour in Tonalá, Jalisco this coming Spring Break 2019. Join us for a family-friendly private tour in Tonalá, “land where the sun is born.” This 5-day/6-night retreat is framed around visiting sacred sites, talking circles with elders, cultural arts classes (indigenous music and Mexican pottery), community gatherings, traditional food, establishing a relationship with the land, decolonizing, and unearthing/healing the sacred feminine. This tour is intended for POC and is family friendly.
On March 19, 2009 for just a few hours, the face of the Alamo was covered in a series of brown and earth-colored faces of native San Antonio people. The lawn was covered in tipis with warm-colored lights that pulsated like a community of heartbeats. It was the first and last time this happened.
